WSP USA Mid-Level Geotechnical Engineer in Albuquerque, New Mexico

The preferred candidate will have an educational background in civil engineering, with a geotechnical or geological emphasis; interpersonal, written, and verbal communication, skills; and will be a proactive problem solver. This position offers the opportunity to work with, learn from, and be mentored by senior engineering staff while executing the following roles/responsibilities:

Your Impact

  • Wil work under the direction and mentorship of Senior Engineers

  • Provide engineering field support, analysis, and design, to support WSP’s clients

  • Participate in planning and implementation of civil/geotechnical investigations and design activities

  • Support engineering analyses and deliverables with software applications

  • Will have the opportunity to develop skills in project management including scope, budget, schedule, and resource management

  • Be key member of project teams, ensuring the technical quality of deliverables

  • Write proposals and reports

  • Travel to project sites in New Mexico and the Western US. Approximately 20% overnight travel

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • B.S. or M.S. in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering

  • EIT required with plan to acquire PE registration in 1 to 2 years

  • 5 - 7 years + experience in civil/geotechnical engineering

  • Strong academic background and solid understanding of geotechnical engineering

  • Understanding of drilling methods, field investigations, and laboratory testing procedures

  • Communication, writing, interpersonal, and presentation skills

  • Superior time management, planning, and ability to interact with clients

  • AutoCAD Civil 3D experience is a plus

  • Ability and willingness to work in the office and field to support civil/geotechnical/environmental projects across the Southwest US

  • Must pass drug test, background check and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy
