GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY:

This position will be responsible for supporting Engineering, Reliability and Automation (ERA) functions for North America (NA) supply chain manufacturing locations. The primary functions of this position will be to apply engineering expertise and knowledge as needed to a wide range of manufacturing processes. This will consist of project support, automation planning, application of new technologies, guidance of Newell Brands standard processes and collaboration with site resources. The position will assist the Sr Manager, ERA and the site resources to achieve results in productivity goals and other projects.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Evaluate and provide guidance and support to automation project designs and design concepts.

o Assist NA sites with design concepts using engineering tools and resources.

· Review equipment designs and provide feedback on Corporate Automation Standards.

o Where necessary provide guidance on exceptions.

· Research and gather data on processes and productivity opportunities to aid in project justifications.

· Support sites as needed with design reviews and provide feedback.

· Track and collect data from sites on productivity and FTE reductions.

· Assist sites with projects helping to perform AIM (Advanced Initiative Management) including but not limited to.

o FMEA’s

o Design reviews

o CQV for new equipment including FAT & SAT planning

· Review processes and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.

· Participate in project ideation and be able to drive with the latest technologies.

· Communicate collaborative efforts and progress from sites back to Sr Manager, ERA.

· Work with the ERA NA team and ERA global teams to support sites as an engineering resource.

JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

· Good understanding of Automation and Automation Technologies.

· Strong Manufacturing background and understanding.

· Basic understanding of Electrical, Controls and Pneumatics.

· Knowledge of Robotics technology and basic capabilities of modern Robotics.

· Good communication skills and ability to work as a team.

· Good Business Acumen and ability to build financial cases to support Capex projects.

· Independent decision making and ability to drive others for results.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

· Must be able to walk, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, reach and grasp for varying periods of time during working hours.

· Must be able to tolerate high temperatures while working in the plant, especially during the summer months.

· Must be willing to traveling both domestically and internationally as needed; travel is a minimum of 50%

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.

· Experience with Project Management.

· 3-5 years relevant experience.

· Experience with Mechanical Design and basic mechanics.

· Basic to advanced understanding of PLC programming.

· System Design and integration experience.
