Robert Half Attorney/Lawyer in Baltimore, Maryland

Description We are offering an exciting opportunity in the education industry at a university located in Baltimore, Maryland. We are in search of an Attorney/Lawyer who can manage complex investigations related to civil rights violations. This role involves an extensive understanding of legal procedures, excellent writing skills, and the ability to work remotely. This role is a contract opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct investigations into civil rights violations, including those related to sex, gender, race, and religious discrimination

• Contribute to meetings to understand and implement the process for handling investigations

• Vet and handle issues related to discrimination from various sources

• Administer the intake process for new cases and determine the suitability for investigation

• Document all investigative processes, findings, and outcomes

• Utilize legal software such as LexisNexis for research and case management

• Specialize in civil litigation and claim administration

• Handle complaints and conduct investigation reports effectively

• Collaborate with the team to manage the high volume of reports and cases. Requirements • Must have a degree in Law from an accredited university or equivalent.

• Possess a valid license to practice law.

• Proven experience in the field of law, preferably within an educational institution.

• Proficient in using legal software for research and case management.

• Familiarity with LexisNexis for legal research is required.

• Demonstrated experience in civil litigation and claim administration.

• Skilled in handling complaints and conducting investigations.

• Should be able to generate clear and concise investigation reports.

• Excellent documentation skills are essential.

• Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound judgments.

• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to influence outcomes.

• Must adhere to all professional and ethical standards set for legal professions.

• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

• Knowledge of current laws and regulations within the education sector is desirable.
