A Lead electrical engineer learns the practical application of engineering principal and will work with a cross-functional team to deliver/maintain the electrical hardware design for medical device. He/She need to know the new technology investigation, the practical design, and the verification/validation.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Designing the hardware and firmware for the medical system including:

  • Analog/Digital circuits design and coding: Embedded FPGA CPU and Peripheral selection, schematic design, PCB layout, programming, debugging and testing.

  • Motion control design: electrical control design, component selection, performance evaluation, interface board design, cabling design.

  • End of life part solution.

  • Engaging in all phases of product introduction, including design, prototype, test, supplier interfaces, manufacturing introduction, service support and documentation.

  • Perform electrical parts’ integration, verification, FMEA, reliability, manufacturability and serviceability analysis.

  • Keep track on new technology and methodology. Identifying and developing new opportunities to leverage Strategic Sourcing objectives and Common Technology initiatives.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • BS or above in Electrical Engineering, Automatic Control Engineering or equivalent experience.

  • 5 years engineering experience in Medical device, automation, or instrumentation.

  • Design capabilities in the following: motion control design, Circuit boards design, embedded system hardware and firmware design.

  • Skillful on electrical design and simulation tools like Cadence, Auto CAD, Quartus, ModelSim, etc.

Desired Characteristics

  • Master’s degree in electrical engineering preferred.

  • Vascular product or large medical device or robot automatic control design experience preferred.

  • Self-starter, energizing, results oriented, and able to multi-task.

  • Good teamwork, coordination and communication skills.

  • Ability to meet aggressive reliability, performance, cost, serviceability, and delivery targets.

  • Effective oral and written communication skills, global project experience will be plus.
