Sony Pictures Entertainment Manager, Creative Advertising (One Year Contract) in Beijing, China

This is One-year Contract position to provide maternity cover for an existing incumbent.

Position Summary:

Based in our Beijing office, the Creative Manager is an integral member of SPE's Marketing Team and reports directly to the Marketing Director. This role will translate marketing strategies and goals into actionable execution plans of creative materials and can make valuable inputs to campaign building. Besides excellent sense of marketing and hands-on capabilities of design, the incumbent also has strong communication skills and task management skills. This role is the key contact with Home Office Creative team and all local creative vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fully understand global and local marketing strategies and goals and translate to creative material plans

  • Deliver print and A/V creative materials, including localization of OV materials, creation of local ideas as well as working with artists on special illustrations

  • Communicate with HO Creative Team on WIP materials and China bespoke needs, ensure timely delivery and launch of materials

  • Manage external creative vendors to build original contents with special attention to local culture and trends

  • Ensure material compliance to all relevant rules and policies

  • Budget management for creatives and related works

  • Continuously gain resource and build strong relationships with leading agencies and artists

  • Work closely with Research team in testing programs (i.e. focus groups) to determine guidelines for creative materials

  • Create mock-ups for pitches and proposals

  • Support the aesthetic aspects of presentation decks whenever needed

  • Support ad-hoc events such as press events, talent tour, etc.

    Required Key Skills:

  • Very solid experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, AfterEffects, etc

  • Excellent print design skill is a must; video editing skill is a strong plus

  • Native Chinese speaker with excellent verbal and written communications skills in English

  • Good sense of marketing and passion for films

  • Experience with all types of creative materials for film marketing

  • An independent problem solver with strong communication and task management skills

  • A team player who can work with all kinds of mindsets and encompass different perspectives

  • Self-motivated, strong sense of ownership and responsibilities

  • Always looking for learning and growth

  • Resourceful in creative vendors and artists

Required Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor of Arts in Design

  • Experience in entertainment or film marketing is a must

  • Typically 3-5 years’ work experience in a similar role at film company, creative studio or advertising agency; direct working experience with international business partners is a must

  • Experience with local digital platforms is a plus
