Description
An award-winning community health organization is looking for an Assistant Controller to join their Finance team. The Assistant Controller will be a critical part of the team, reporting directly to the Senior Director of Finance. What You’ll Be Doing
Preparing financial statements summarizing and forecasting the company’s financial status
Managing balance sheets; analyzing future earnings and expenses
Assists with management of accounting, auditing, and budgeting within the organization
Ensuring compliance with tax and other relevant regulatory/reporting requirements
Preparing and delivering reports for Controller, CFO, and other leaders within the organization
Maintaining the trial balance for the organization, including review, and posting of monthly journal entries, oversee month end closing and respective account analysis
Preparing complex entries as needed
Providing coaching, development, and mentorship to team members
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and improve processes
Providing hands-on support to the team in periods of high volume, leading by example in all aspects of execution
Requirements

Highly motivated accounting professional who is detail-oriented with exceptional analytical skills
Desire to support the health and wellbeing of a diverse community
Proven leadership skills and a passion for developing and managing high-performing teams
Solutions-oriented attitude and track record of effective collaboration across functions
Excellent communication skills and ability interact with all levels inside and outside the organization
What’s Needed – Basic Qualifications
2-5 years of experience as a senior accountant or accounting manager
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or similar
Expert knowledge of accounting and financial principles, regulations, and best practices
Experience with third party accounting, billing, and/or payroll systems
Exposure to accounting for restricted, federal, or state grants and contracts
What’s Needed – Preferred Qualifications
CPA or Public Accounting/Audit experience
Health care industry experience
