The Emergency Services Network (ESN) is a huge critical priority for BT and our commitment to do the best for our customer and our country. ESN will be the most advanced Emergency Services Network in the world. The ESN Finance team within BT delivers full end-to-end financial governance of the ESN contract, including internal and external FP&A, Customer engagement, business partnering and control and audit ownership and management PMO and programme governance, end to end product launch management. The breadth of responsibilities of the team including owning and operating across three Business Units & CFOs is truly unique and complex.

As an ESN Finance Analyst, you will ensure the ESN business unit has plans to underpin growth, provide support on commercials and bids as well as owning and driving the billing and revenue recognition. This role plays a critical part in the progress and achievement of business unit growth through provision of analytical and commercial support for the ESN Program, including future P&L streams often working with business units and divisions across BT.

The successful candidate must be willing to undergo BPSS Level Government Screening which requires a minimum of 3 years continuous residence in the UK.

What you’ll be doing

• Conceive, define, and implement an insight driven end to end economic understanding of the EAS programme

• Generating insights from analysis of cost, economics, and volumes data, in order to evaluate strategic impacts on the business

• Produce monthly financial deliverables in line with agreed timetable including invoicing, preparation of management accounts, commercial reporting to various stakeholders

• Driving for delivery of Revenue and business growth plan including supporting Opex, Capex, Balance sheet, Cash FP&A deliverables including ensuring financial standards and audit compliance.

• Identifying and driving related model improvements working closely with key stakeholders including Finance business Partner, Commercial and Home Office teams

What we would like to see on your CV

• You will be either part or fully accounting qualified and possess well rounded financial management exposure (FP&A, Risk, P&L, Cash, BS)

• Analytically mindset, good attention to detail and ability to understand and interpret technical complexity with financial lense

• Excellent communication and relationship skills. Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently while adapting to your audience and getting the message through as intended, especially in confidential and sensitive situations

• Excellent IT skills, including Excel, SAP RP1 /S4 & Powerpoint. Experience using Power BI, Qlik and other dashboards would be desirable

• Able to identify improvement opportunities and introduce these into the immediate work area and also across the wider team

This role offers a 3 together, 2 wherever working model. This means you are required to be at your contractual location 3 days a week with 2 flexible days per week.
