Description

Robert Half is partnering with a well established company in Broussard, Louisiana to recruit for a Staff Accountant. Reporting to the Controller, the Staff Accountant will provide administrative and financial support services to other business departments. The Staff Accountant will manage and maintain relationships internally with Operations, Project Management, Construction, and Fabrication Departments, as well as, externally with customers and vendors.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Weekly Payroll Preparation

· Calculate Monthly Sales Commissions

· Process customer invoices

· Process Accounts Payable invoices and W-9 verification for new vendors

· Process weekly Accounts Payable check run and monitor when invoices are due

· Asset Management process and reporting

· Post journal entries and reconcile general ledger accounts as needed

· Assist with month-end closing process

· Assist with financial statement review and analysis

· Support system improvement initiatives, including streamlining and automating process and enhancing internal controls

· Perform recurring and ad-hoc accounting tasks

· Analyze results, monitor variances, identify trends and recommend actions to Management

· Additional duties as assigned

Requirements

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance a plus

· 3+ years professional experience in accounting and finance

· NetSuite or similar ERP experience a plus

· Excellent analytical skills

· Working knowledge of GAAP

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel and Outlook)

· Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel

· Strong problem-solving and time management skills

· Highly organized and detail-oriented

· Ability to effectively and professionally communicate, both in writing and verbally

· Open to development of skills and knowledge

· Willingness to be flexible and adaptable to change
