We are currently expanding our International Medical Affairs team and are recruiting for an Associate Director who is a scientific and clinical subject matter expert in Toxin Science to build clinical expertise and provide training in toxin science internally and externally. The role will also include developing and maintaining appropriate professional relationships with external customers focusing on policy and formulary decision makers, hospital institutions, academic centers, integrated health networks, government channels, and HCPs to provide comprehensive medical and scientific education and expertise for botulinum toxin products, within the assigned territory and globally.
This is a field-based role with the preferred candidate ideally located in Europe.
Main Areas of Responsibilities
Identify, develop and maintainprofessional relationships with HCPs, academic centres, and decision makers to provideaccess to current approved medical and scientific information on botulinumtoxin products across all therapeutic and aesthetic indications.
Work with relevant colleagues inagreed high-priority countries to develop holistic, cross-indication toxin scienceplans, tools, and messages
Provide input and insight tosupport global Toxin Science strategies and operational tactics within CMO andthe larger cross-functional group as required during planning cycles.
Work closely with other groups inAllergan (e.g. regional market access managers) to execute the global and localplan in country, providing high quality toxin science expertise on an as neededand requested basis. This will include responding to requests for botulinumtoxin science support from country-specific Medical Directors and/or RegionalAccess Managers (RAMs), and US Director of National Account team as needed andrequested, as well as other internal stakeholders.
Provide support as needed incountry to Medical and Commercial teams in delivering clinical and pharmacy presentationsand providing scientific education and expertise for medical policy andformulary initiatives, and education in a compliant manner.
Working with the Global Directorof Toxin Science, provide medical and scientific insights from the field andutilize insights to develop appropriate audience specific tools and materialsas required and requested, including working with scientific communicationsteams and others to develop appropriate compliant materials and monitoringcompetitive environment, and appropriate literature.
Facilitate procedural aspectsregarding on-strategy submission of IIT proposals from HCPs.
Work with Global Evidence andValue (GEV) team in development of international tools per local regulations toshare health economic data with external international customers as appropriate.
In conjunction with the GlobalDirector of Toxin Science, conduct on-going global education to the MedicalAffairs function across therapeutic areas, as well as field sales and otherinternal personnel as required. Ensure up to date knowledge of product use andcompetitor data, expected to be Allergan Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) on toxinscience, health outcomes, and landscape developments.
Education and Experience
MD, Pharm. D or Ph. D or relateddoctorate level medical or life science related degree required
A combination of significant specificindustry experience (pharma, device, etc) and post professional degree practiceor relevant transferable experience (clinical practice, academic research,regulatory/scientific)
Experience with botulinum toxinscience is strongly preferred
Experience with market access andtendering is preferred
Prior experience in a field-basedscientific role (e.g. MSL role) preferred
Where relevant, a good understandingof Good Clinical Practices, ICH guidelines, PhRMA code, FDA CFR, ISO, clinicalresearch ethics, HIPAA and patient privacy laws, EU Directive and otherapplicable local regulations
