The manager for the Allergan Medical Institute – Eyecare is responsible for developing and cascading Eyecare BU advocacy / medical education strategy, messaging and key deliverables across the Glaucoma and Retina business. They will work as part of the Eyecare cross-functional leadership to build sustainable brand advocacy and enhance Allergan’s reputation in the therapy area.

The role is field based with regular travel to our head office in Marlow and nationally to AMI Events and meetings with KOLs and Advocates.

Key Responsibilities:

Setting AMI Strategy and Plans for Eyecare

  • Develop, align and execute AMIplan for Eyecare – in line with Marketing & Sales requirements

  • Engage and align the Eyecarecross-functional teams around advocacy development, with focus across National,Regional & Local levels

  • Work with InternationalStrategic Marketing and other Must Win markets for mutual benefit; ensuring theUK is well positioned to provide brand advocates and relationships are in placeto leverage non-UK brand advocates

Delivery of Comprehensive AMI programme

  • Working with Eyecare Marketingteams you will help shape the content of AMI meetings through self and others(e.g. Customer Slidekits, Invites, Feedback forms, etc)

  • Manage Job bags through Zincapproval process

  • Manage AMI spend in line with EyecareBrand Managers expectations

  • Utilise multi-channelopportunities to mobilise advocacy

  • Attend all AMI meetingsco-ordinating external agencies to deliver high impactful content

Effectively manage UK CM and PSS KOL

  • Have gravitas with KOLs /advocates through building robust working relationships built on deep categoryknowledge and partnership working

  • Establish UK/IRL KOL list,development of Mentors, Rising Stars and succession planning

  • Build and maintain a robustknowledge of the evolving clinical landscape across Glaucoma and Retina

  • Keep abreast of the evolvingpayer landscape and understand how this relates to and impacts the BusinessUnit strategies

Education and Experience

  • Experience in Ophthalmologypreferable

  • Extensive experience in thepharmaceutical industry - field sales work or project management

  • University degree in a scientificor business related disciplines

  • Experience of organising largecustomer events

  • Experience of hiring andmanaging external agencies (creative/med comms)

  • Experience in developing andmanaging relationships with Key Opinion Leaders

Essential Skills, Experience, and Competencies (includes Licences, Credentials)

  • Able to understand the clinicaland scientific aspects of Ophthalmology

  • Comfortable discussingscientific data and clinical techniques with senior clinicians and colleagues
