Location: Castleford or Harlow offices with some travel between sites.We have a hybrid approach to home working!

The opportunity

We are looking for an enthusiastic and talented individual to work alongside the legal team on corporate and commercial projects, whilst also leading and providing project management support for various ESG activities

This is an exciting role, which can be shaped and evolved by an enthusiastic and dedicated candidate. Support will be given to the successful candidate. Above all we are looking for enthusiasm and a can-do, self-starter, approach.

We are also potentially willing to consider supporting SQE qualification for the right candidate.

A day in the life of a Corporate/Commercial Paralegal...

  • You will work with external lawyers and UK Legal team on legal, corporate governance and ESG updates and horizon scanning and delivering the same to business leadership and management teams.

  • You will support GC on UK Legal team projects, wider business knowledge sharing meetings and updates, team meeting and Board meeting organisation.

  • You will manage day-to-day operational aspects of UK Legal team.

  • You will work with external lawyers and UK Legal team on Company Secretarial matters.

  • You will work alongside business colleagues on projects as a core member of the project group.

  • You will network and collaborate across the business with relevant stakeholders and external suppliers where necessary to ensure effective execution of project deliverables.

  • You will lead on project management of ESG Steerco and Working Groups.

  • You will collaborate with the business and ESG Steerco and Working Groups to identify ESG projects and achieve delivery of regulatory, customer, company and legal targets.

  • You will take a leading role in the development of an ESG project plan with Workstream leads and delivering the same for approval by the ESG Steerco.

  • You will manage, collate and respond to Global/EU/Local ESG-related information requests.

  • You will work on other ad-hoc duties as required at the direction of the ESG Steerco and the UK & IE Legal team.

Who we are looking for

Do you have...?

  • Law Degree, and ideally, relevant experience in a previous paralegal role.

  • Understanding or interest to learn about and develop understanding of ESG/sustainability trends

  • Experience of project methodology.

  • Analytical experience, with ability to develop actionable insights from data.
