General Summary:

The Sr. Analyst will be responsible for moderately complex data analysis. They will use their technical and domain expertise to develop/maintain pricing tools that will be used to price solutions business. They will be proficient in Excel, Macros and SQL to generate meaningful insights for teams and leaders to confidently act on. They will be expected to exhibit proficiency with the tools and technical skillsets necessary for their area of responsibility. The position will provide data analyses working individually or with others that serve to inform and ground business decisions and will collaborate with subject matter experts, provide quality analytics.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Acquiring, transforming and translating data into business rules

• Be responsible for developing and maintaining pricing logic for catalog features

• Develop automated scripts for data gathering processes to increase accuracy and efficiency

• Performing moderately complex statistical analysis and presenting findings to guide, influence and advise leadership

• Continuously develop and build upon existing in-depth knowledge of the insurance industry, company and competitor landscape

• Works directly with internal customers to refine requirements and validate output to ensure solutions will meet expectations

• May provide mentoring, coaching and developmental support to lower level Analysts

Job Specifications

• Bachelors Degree preferred, and/or equivalent experience

• 4+ years experience with demonstrated success at a data analyst I level

• Proficient in analytics programming languages (SQL/R/Python)

• Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into technical solutions

• Ability to embrace change, adapt to the unexpected, and focus energies, people, and solutions on practical and positive results

• Demonstrated problem solving skills

• Strong communications skills with the ability to influence others using data and logic

• Ability to effectively mentor others

• Aptitude and drive to learn new technologies and analysis techniques

• Strong team player; able to work effectively within a team and more broadly with people from a variety of backgrounds and areas across the organization. to translate business needs into technical solutions.

The base salary range for applicants for this position is listed below. Unless actual salary is indicated above in the job description, actual pay will be based on skill, geographical location and experience.

$80,630.00-$157,630.00

Additionally, Unum offers a portfolio of benefits and rewards that are competitive and comprehensive including healthcare benefits (health, vision, dental), insurance benefits (short & long-term disability), performance-based incentive plans, paid time off, and a 401(k) retirement plan with an employer match up to 5% and an additional 4.5% contribution whether you contribute to the plan or not.
