About the Department The Ward Alcohol-Related Data Team at the University of Cincinnati (Cincinnati, OH) is seeking applications for a postdoctoral fellowship. This solicitation seeks applicants with a background in clinical or non-clinical Psychology, Health or related fields who have an interest in research related to young adult alcohol use and its correlates with social media use and other psychosocial constructs. The successful applicant will join Dr. Rose Marie Ward's research laboratory, which focuses on (1) young adults' social media use and its relationship with alcohol use; (2) social networks of alcohol use among college students; and (3) differences in alcohol consumption among diverse identities. Dr. Ward is an active, federally funded scientist, and the postdoctoral collaborator will have extensive opportunities to publish, write grants, conduct their own research, and gain supervised clinical hours for licensure for work that extends beyond the requirements of the research through the Psychology department (for qualified applicants). Job Overview Assist the Principal Investigator in a given department or field. The successful applicant will conduct research, analyzeresearch data, and ensure that all data are appropriately conducted following the policies and procedures of the University of Cincinnati. Positions are temporary appointments as a research trainee. Essential Functions Conduct research in health psychology within the pre-determinedresearch scope and methodology. Gather and analyzedata and develop new ideas that promote current research. Prepare data summaries, reports, manuscripts and presentations of research results. Participate/assist in manuscript writing for publication in scientific journals and/or presentation; may assist in grant writing. Keep informed of developments in field to maintain and enhance professional expertise. May teach techniques to others, train, and mentor juniorresearch staff. Engage in appropriate training and professional development opportunities. Play an active role in seeking career and research advice, both from the faculty supervisor and from other faculty members as well. Required Education Doctoral Degree in the appropriate field or discipline, or the recognized terminal degree, or the equivalent foreign equivalent. Required Experience In-depth knowledge of specialized field, process or discipline. May require experience with specialized software programs. Additional Qualifications Considered Doctoral degree in a Psychology, Health, or relevant field. Strong interest in alcohol use research. Background statistical methods (e.g., structural equation modeling, multilevel modeling, social network analysis).
