The primary purpose of the Clinical Projects Manager position is to provide administrative and clinical staff with budgeting, planning, implementation and project management support for new construction, expansion and/or space rehabilitation projects. Performs equipment planning, budgeting, evaluation, procurement, expedite services and move-in activities on these types of projects. Works with internal customers on whose behalf work efforts are led, directed and reported while facilitating adherence to MHS established policies, guidelines and standards. Works to ensure that thorough equipment (and supporting supply) financial analyses are performed and MHS established furniture and equipment standards are maintained. Works closely with Corporate Construction, Interior Design and project architects to ensure that blueprints reflect specified FF&E functional needs and to meet FF&E load-in schedules. Develops overall plan and requirements lists; tracks and reports FF&E expenditures on projects.

Your Job Requirements:

• Bachelor degree preferred. • Three years of health care construction project management experience may be substituted for college degree. • Computer skills — spreadsheet, word processing, PowerPoint, MMIS. • Communication with multiple internal customers — effectively deal with conflicting views or issues and mediate fair, cost-effective solutions. • Fast-paced environment in which several activities are occurring simultaneously. • Team leadership and participation skills. • Familiarity with financial reports, budget preparation and budget tracking. • Construction/architectural blueprint literacy.

Your Job Responsibilities :

• Works with architects, consultants, construction, physical plant, I/T, and administrative and clinical staff to develop construction/renovation project scope, space requirements and FF&E functional needs. Works to obtain maximum clinical benefit and best overall value from available funds based on justified need. Develops room equipment schedules to optimize patient care quality, safety and efficiency; develops compatible project equipment planning timelines that coincide with the construction timelines established by Corporate Construction. Works with the construction project managers to define contractor-furnished/contractor- installed (CFCI) equipment for projects while ensuring that MHS established FF&E standards are maintained (e.g... soap dispensers, paper towel dispensers, sharps container brackets, ice machines, etc.) and within timelines and schedules established in conjunction with the Corporate Construction department. Reviews architectural and engineering documents to ensure compatibility with project FF&E plans. Utilizes AutoCAD to analyze and ensure that appropriate equipment space, electrical and plumbing requirements are met. Facilitates existing equipment inventory in project-related areas; identifies reusable items. Coordinates project movable equipment inservice training as needed. Ensures successful completion of assigned projects on a timely basis and within budgetary guidelines. • Coordinates detailed definition of FF&E items with administrative and clinical staff while ensuring that MHS purchasing guidelines, policies and established standards are maintained. Develops detailed line item FF&E budget in accordance with Construction and I/T projects. Assists administrative and clinical staff in defining and implementing capital equipment needs and long-term capital equipment planning and budgeting. Works closely with clinical staff to upgrade equipment and furniture to improve overall functionality and appearance resulting in improved patient satisfaction surveys. Works in tandem with the product line buyers to analyze supply costs associated with long-term operation of equipment purchased. • Routinely updates Administration and Materials Management leadership as to project FF&E budget status; revises equipment plans in tandem with the construction project managers, Administration and Materials Management leadership to stay within budget, without compromising quality and safety of care. Maintains and updates furniture and equipment standards program in conjunction with Materials Management leadership. • Negotiates and executes purchase orders to achieve a balance between cost, quality and delivery of products. Utilizes MDBuyline and Premier contracts to aid in negotiations with vendors to achieve best pricing and overall value on MHS project FF&E items. Works to utilize diversity vendor sources whenever possible within MHS guidelines. • Manages FF&E requirements for new family practice centers. Provides onsite customer service and support (including MMIS education) to assist in the opening of the new centers.
