Citigroup Financial Reporting Lead - Vice President in Dublin, Ireland

Team/Role Overview

Ireland Finance includes approximately 40 professional staff overseeing 4 core legal vehicles, the largest of which, Citibank Europe plc, is involved in Commercial; Corporate and Investment Banking Business; has assets of circa $150 billion and branches in 22 European countries.

The Bank is supervised jointly by the Central Bank of Ireland (CBI) and European Central Bank (ECB).

The Financial Reporting Lead will be responsible for all Financial Reporting delivered to Finance’s key stakeholders which Citibank Europe Plc’s Board of Directors, Key Senior Management, Irish and EU Regulators and external and internal auditors. The successful candidate will be responsible for complex IFRS consolidated Financial Statements, prudential reporting – FinRep, monthly management reporting and other various management and regulatory reports.

What you’ll do

  • Oversee the production and delivery of IFRS & US GAAP based Financial Statements of the Banking Chain regulated entities.

  • Regulatory Reporting: Manage and support the production of the Company and Group FinRep in addition to associated Single Supervisory Reporting Requirements.

  • Accounting Policies: Maintain and develop the Company and Group accounting policies to ensure transparent application of the relevant accounting standards through our reporting framework.

  • Reviewing different types of reports; reconciliations and analysis with commentary for the numerous stakeholders including senior management.

  • Lead External Audit Contact - Liaise and manage relationship with external audit including addressing queries in a timely manner.

  • Manage relationship with offshore Shared Service Centre and support the production of the Company and Group FinRep and other regulatory reporting by providing support and guidance.

  • Performing various control functions within financial and regulatory reporting.

  • Significant contribution to Finance projects and initiatives.

What we’ll need from you

  • Qualified Accountant (CA, ACA, or equivalent) trained within a Big 4 professional services firm or multinational bank

  • Financial Statements production and external audit process/management experience with multiple jurisdictions and knowledge of CRDIV reporting (FinRep).

  • Reporting and presenting to senior stakeholders including management committees/ audit committee experience.

  • Proven track record of working with multiple departments and global teams like Accounting Policy/Product Control/Risk/Legal/Company Secretarial etc.

  • External Audit relationship management experience.

  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP & IFRS Accounting Standards and Banking Products for e.g. Different types of Loans/Deposits/Derivatives is essential, including experience in drafting accounting policies and technical accounting memos

  • Team management skills with excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate with senior stakeholders.

  • Ability to make decisions based on imperfect information, able to explain and stand behind these decisions. Problem Solver with the ability to identify gaps and propose solutions including ability to explain complex financial scenarios in easy to understand language.
