Insight Global Reunification Case Aide - Bilingual in Grand Rapids, Michigan

Job Description

The Reunification Case Aide is primarily responsible for providing client care and transportation to appointments, hearings and other social agencies. This individual will also be responsible for discharge and conducts frequent transportation from state-to-state for reunification with sponsor. This individual will also support the team with administrative tasks.

This position is expected to function effectively with regular supervision while following the guidelines given on procedures, along with agency, federal, and state regulatory requirements.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide transportation and provide care to clients for, but not limited to, medical appointments, legal appointments, hearings, and other social agencies;

  • Responsible for discharge and conducts transportation to include frequent travel from state-to-state for reunification with a sponsor; Effectively report the behaviors of children during transportation to foster parents and the treatment team;

  • Review discharge packet with the assigned Case Manager and arrange the appropriate flight details;

  • Coordinate the drop off of the child(ren) with the sponsor family;

  • Ensure all applicable documentation is present while traveling with minor child, such as authorization paperwork;

  • Coordinate and obtain the appropriate money order from the sponsors in a timely manner;

  • Notify Case Manager and other involved parties of flight delays in a prompt and timely manner to ensure effective communication channels;

  • Provide the appropriate communications to the Case Manager when a placement has been successfully completed;

  • Ensure the child is safe and comfortable while in care;

  • Demonstrate flexibility with working hours outside of the normal business hours to meet the needs of the role to include some evenings and weekends, as needed;

  • Assist the medical team with administrative task, as needed;

  • Provide language interpretation to clients for appointments out in the community, when needed;

  • Provide supervision of youth in the classroom, when needed;

  • Ensure professional boundaries are established and maintained at all times on the job and especially when supervising youth;

  • Maintain an adequate knowledge of trauma and attend continuous training in the Sanctuary Model of Care to ensure compliance with trauma-informed environment;

  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Skills and Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent;

  • Bilingual: English and Spanish;

  • Knowledge of trauma and willing to be trained in the Sanctuary Model of Care to ensure compliance with trauma-informed environment;

  • Demonstrated organizational skills;

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;

  • Must be willing and able to provide language interpretation services;

  • Must have an ability to provide excellent and compassionate customer service;

  • Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail;

  • Must be reliable with time sensitive deadlines and tasks;

  • Computer skills sufficient to perform essential functions including knowledge of Microsoft Office suite;

  • Documentation of immunity to vaccine preventable diseases or the willingness to receive vaccination, or seek an exemption;

  • Must be 21 years old with a valid driver's license with at least 3 years of driving experience in the U.S. to operate a vehicle on behalf of the client. Must also pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check and maintain a reliable vehicle with proof of adequate insurance coverage;
