Aerotek is looking for a composite bonding technician for a contract to hire role in Hot Springs, Arkansas.

The Technician will be responsible for composite installation and repair primarily on Thrust Reverse Engines.

Job Description:

• Main product line is 767 and 747 GE thrust reverse engines.

• Candidate will apply wire mesh on engine for noise abatement

• Remove existing wire mesh and blocker door, spray adhesive and re-apply.

• Vacuum bag part, hot bond it to heat up and adhere

• Mix up adhesives and potting compounds for scheduled work

• Lots of concave and convex surfaces. Need a finesse to maintain a quality product on uneven surfaces.

• Other types of composite bonding depending on skill set and product.

• Thrust reversers could have disassembly or assembly to get to blocker door. Will use basic hand tools to complete that task

• Set up programs for hot bonding. Heat machine to right temp in accurate timeframe.

• Run autoclave and apply vacuum pressure to parts that are too large to be bagged.

Qualified Candidates

• 3+ years of 145 Repair station, composite repair experience.

• A&P not required, but helpful.

• Experience with cutting out damage, laid up parts to be repaired, utilization of hot bonders and heat blankets

• Composite or fiberglass Bonding experience required, wire mesh is a plus

• Experience working with repair manuals.

• Experience w/ Rolls Royce or GE engines preferred

• Tools are required. Basic hand tools for assembly and disassembly (hammers, punches, sockets, power tools)
