Overview

Graham Packaging is seeking a visionary and results-driven Director of Global Sourcing, Resins to lead our high-performing resin sourcing team. The Director of Global Sourcing, Resins will be responsible for developing and executing strategic sourcing initiatives, managing supplier relationships, and leading a talented team to drive cost savings, mitigate supply chain risks, and ensure continuity of supply. This role requires exceptional leadership skills, a strong understanding of resin sourcing dynamics, and a proven track record of building and motivating high-performing teams. This is a remote based position.

Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of direct material sourcing professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and support to drive performance and foster a collaborative team culture in a matrix organization.

  • Develop and execute global strategies for direct materials, aligning sourcing initiatives with business objectives and market dynamics.

  • Strategies to support cost savings and continuous improvement of supplier performance within the three business verticals (Household Chemical & Industrial, Beverages, and Food & Nutrition)

  • Identify and qualify new suppliers to drive value for GPC and our customers.

  • Monitor global market trends, price fluctuations, and supply chain risks for all direct materials and the raw material components of the direct materials to proactively identify opportunities/challenges and develop mitigation strategies.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive EBITDA contributions, accurate material forecasting, purchasing compliance, quality assurance, and standardize processes to support organizational objectives.

  • Support Commercial Team with customer direct negotiations

  • Support Finance COE with budget and forecast requirements

  • Budget and Forecasting price inputs

  • Understand financial impacts of all direct material negotiations

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts, managing supplier performance, and resolving issues to ensure cost-effectiveness and supply chain reliability

  • Develop and maintain relationships with all major suppliers up to and including the CEO level of the fortune 500 companies

  • Work with Suppliers to develop Business Continuity Program (BCP) to protect GPC business in “Act of God” events.

  • Be on cutting edge with supply base for new material innovations.

  • Conduct performance reviews with suppliers to assess performance against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), identify areas for improvement, and develop action plans for performance enhancement.

  • Develop and maintain KPIs to track team performance, cost savings, supplier performance, and other metrics related to the procurement of direct materials

  • Champion sustainability initiatives and environmental stewardship in resin sourcing activities that support the sustainable procurement strategy, and promotes the use of sustainable materials and responsible sourcing practices

  • Stay informed about industry regulations, environmental standards, and best practices in resin categories to ensure compliance and drive innovation

  • Prepare and deliver executive-level presentations and reports on market guidance, performance metrics, and key initiatives

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • 7-10 years procurement experience.

  • 3-5 years Management experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related fields; or comparable experience

  • Proven leadership experience in resin sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management with track record of building and leading high-performing teams

  • Deep understanding of the resin market, including resin types, pricing trends, and supply chain dynamics

  • Strong negotiation skills and experiencing negotiating contracts with resin suppliers.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to analyze complex data and market data-driven decisions

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders

  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and sustainability initiatives related to resin is a plus

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, up to 25%

The standard compensation for this role is $142,800 - $206,300. Salary offers will be determined based on final candidate qualifications, experience, skillset, and other relevant factors

Compensation Statement

The expected salary range for the position described in this posting is made in accordance with the legal mandates of certain jurisdictions within the United States. The final agreed-upon compensation is based on individual qualifications and experience.
