JOB SUMMARY

This job supports the retention of existing accounts and the acquisition of new members/contracts by working directly with Client Managers, within National markets as well as regional markets in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Delaware. The incumbent is responsible to assist in the preparation of proposals, meeting materials and/or sales collateral during the account renewal process. Evaluates, recommends and implements processes to ensure that account objectives are met. Serve as liaison between sales and pharmacy for problem resolution. Supports the corporate goal for retention and client satisfaction. Provides and interprets account-specific data, participates in client strategic planning for pharmacy solutions. Represents pharmacy as the subject matter expert for all pharmacy programs, products, and benefit recommendations to clients.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with Client Managers and Sales leadership to present and prepare data analyses, pharmacy management strategies and pharmacy capabilities to Organization clients and potential clients.

  • Assist in the preparation of pharmacy benefit design analysis for specialized proposals and quotes. Runs financial reports or performs basic financial analysis on utilization data and market research and analysis. Develop detailed specifications for implementation of new pharmacy products for clients.

  • In coordination with Sales, strategize to develop and implement data-driven, clinical intervention plans and strategies for Organization clients to effectively impact behavior change, risk, pharmacy costs and productivity impairment.

  • Coordinate all post-sale, on-going aspects of the company’s operations and communication with senior level executives at the client level, as well as legal, other Organization companies and outside vendors.

  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with clients, consultants and brokers in partnership with Distribution Administration to develop and/or strengthen the Organization’s relationships with key distribution channels and partners. Accountable for influencing and building effective relationships with business partners (i.e. customers, peers, and producers, consultants).

  • Primary contact for the resolution of the day to day pharmacy service issues. Support Sales during the implementation of client contracts and throughout the relationship by resolving difficult issues in a timely and professional manner; taking responsibility for customer satisfaction and loyalty.

  • Develop documents and processes to ensure effective communication via work plans for all account implementation activities.

  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, formally and informally, in meeting/presentation venues.

  • Other duties as assigned or requested.

EDUCATION

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in a clinical field such as Pharmacy, Nursing, Nutrition or a Business related field

Substitutions

  • 6 years experience in pharmacy setting in lieu of Bachelor degree

Preferred

  • Master's Degree

EXPERIENCE

Required

  • 5 years in a managed care environment

  • 3 years of demonstrated clinical analytic experience with critical/strategic thinking and action plan execution

Preferred

  • 3 years in project management with emphasis on client/sales support

  • 3 years in an external client facing role

  • 3 years "pitching" new solutions (customer need,solution to need, value prop, project financial return)

SKILLS

  • Excellent and effective communication, including verbal and writing skills

  • Effective problem solving and decision making skills

  • Interpersonal skills (persuasive, influential, consultative, collaborative, integrator); ability to build and maintain relationships with other departments and the Organizations clients including brokers

  • Cross functional and enterprise-wide knowledge

  • Solid understanding of cultural competency, health disparity issues and health equity issues

Pay Range Minimum:

$67,500.00

Pay Range Maximum:

$124,800.00

Base pay is determined by a variety of factors including a candidate’s qualifications, experience, and expected contributions, as well as internal peer equity, market, and business considerations. The displayed salary range does not reflect any geographic differential Highmark may apply for certain locations based upon comparative markets.
