Position Overview

This dynamic leader will own Allergan’s Commercial channel strategy, and Allergan’s Population Health Center of Excellence. The Executive Director, Commercial Channel will work across Allergan’s enterprise, collaboratively and cross functionally, to recommend fully integrated strategic solutions to maximize key commercial channel opportunities and risks, affecting Allergan’s franchises. Additionally, the leader will be responsible for the cross functional development of Allergan’s Population Heath Center of Excellence.

Areas of Responsibility:

  • The Executive Director, Commercial Channel Strategy will provide therapeutic specific, fully integrated commercial plans to address key trends such as industry consolidation and other risks that may affect access, coverage, and/or reimbursement or profitability of Allergan’s key assets within the commercial business channel.

  • The Executive Director, Commercial Channel Strategy will create, establish and lead Allergan’s cross functional Population Health Center of Excellence.

  • This creative leader will lead cross functional teams to recommend and implement industry leading, and therapeutic specific, payer value add programs.

  • The individual will forge new relationships with evolving and strategic commercial buying groups and stakeholders, in order to recommend and implement strategic partnerships that maximize Allergan’s portfolio of innovative products.

  • The leader will evaluate and recommend specific and actionable technologies that will drive patient adherence and persistency.

  • The Executive Director will evaluate and recommend options for Allergan’s engagement within complex customer groups such as Employer Groups, IDNs and ACOs.

  • The leader will consult on retail product pipeline commercialization strategy.

  • The individual will monitor, evaluate, and communicate competitive corporate strategies and key commercial payer strategies.

  • The leader will serve as corporate contact for key industry groups such as AMCP, PCMA, and others as assigned, and will work cross functionally to develop program and tactical support at appropriate events.

  • The Exec Director, Commercial Channel will provide quarterly corporate decks for Account Management use.


The following listed requirements need to be met at a minimum level to be considered for the job:

  • The Executive Director, Commercial Channel must demonstrate a strong commercial payer background.

  • The leader must demonstrate strong knowledge of the US Reimbursement landscape for pharmaceutical products delivered under both pharmacy or medical benefit.

  • The candidate must demonstrate a history of success leading cross functional teams that have created and executed complex and innovative ideas.

  • The Executive Director, Commercial Channel will have demonstrated experience and knowledge of Population Health, Public Policy, HEOR, Quality Metrics and other areas that drive quality initiatives and/or patient satisfaction.

  • The individual will demonstrate strong cross functional leadership and experience that spans multiple therapeutic areas, and across pharmacy and medical benefits.

  • The candidate will demonstrate the ability to build internal and external bridges, in keeping with Allergan core values.

  • The candidate should have experience in pharmaceutical and or payer marketing.

  • 10+ years of pharmaceutical, payer and employer experience


  • Four year degree required. MBA, and or MPH preferred
