The Leadership Development Director works closely with the AVP of Sales Training and Development, as well as sales leadership, and brand management to recommend and direct strategic and tactical training for the U.S. sales leadership organization including all phases of Leadership training; Leading Self, Leading Others and Leading the Business, in addition to leading the Leadership development team, and being accountable for all class logistics.
Main Areas of Responsibilities
Design, develop and work towards delivering effective training programs that stay within budget and drive top line sales.
Responsible for the leadership, logistics and facilitation (where needed) of all corporately run training classes. Involves field trainers, sales management and sales team members as needed.
Works with marketing teams and sales leadership to ensure training content is accurate and up to date for all training needs. Collaboratively works with all key stakeholders in the Medical/Legal/Regulatory/Compliance process to ensure all relevant materials are approved.
Manages all ongoing training content and learning process – all Digital Learning Platforms and helps coordinate conference call needs.
Effectively manages US. Salesforce Leadership Development Training, Compliance Wire, Act 1st and VEEVA marketing and sales projects for specific training tracks their responsible for in training.
Extensive experience in developing and leading high potential, high performing individual contributors.
Proficient communication and facilitation skills. Ability to engage a group of highly successful salespeople.
Assignor for all centrally located US Leadership Development Sales Training programs.
Ensures all classes are calendarized, space is available, and all invites are promptly sent to attendees with sales management approvals. Works closely with training coordinator/admin to ensure programs are effectively managed.
Works with marketing, sales leadership, medical/legal/regulatory/compliance, and other departments, as needed, to create and produce specific training materials.
Works with sales training department, field training managers to support, develop and execute regional training programs.
Continuously assesses training and development needs of the field force and coordinates training resources, vendors to ensure the long-term development of the US Sales teams.
Key Meeting Design & Execution
In collaboration with sales leadership, marketing leadership and the regional training team the Director of Leadership Development identifies and develops agendas and timelines. Additionally, key internal customers for this work include the meeting/planning team.
Primary interface with Allergan meeting planning team to ensure team understands meeting flow, objectives, and requirements.
Sales & Marketing Communication Activities
Works with AVP of Sales Training and Development.
Development, and field leaders to recommend, support and direct strategic and tactical sales.
Develops and nourishes relationships with field sales to provide sales training and marketing managers with a clear understanding of field needs to support product positioning, to address competitive promotional efforts, and to assess the success of the various communication tools.
Participates in brand team field input calls.
Education and Experience:
Expert level knowledge of sales leadership and leadership development
Minimum of 5 years field sales experience in the pharmaceutical industry
Minimum of 5 years field management experience in pharmaceutical industry. Directors (managers of people that manage people preferred)
Position is located in Madison, NJ Allergan corporate office or if not then required travel would be 60%.
