Toshiba America Energy Systems Corporation (TAES) provides energy industry solutions new equipment, retrofits, maintenance, outage planning and more for current and future power generation needs in the Americas, including thermal, hydro and nuclear power plants. Position Summary We are seeking a highly organized Project Manager to work out of our West Allis, WI office. The Project Manager is responsible for the overall coordination of, and execution of service projects related to power generation equipment (turbine, generator, and/or instrument and control services and repairs). This job will require working with customers, shop operations, engineering, and outside vendors. Bidding and proposal information development will be a significant part of the overall responsibility. Essential Duties Gather information from all available resources to assist with the development and preparation of project proposals. Work with Engineering, Field Services, and Production Operations to plan, organize, and direct activities concerning project execution. Provide timely planning response from point of award through project execution Coordinate internal and external staffing requirements and resource assignments Manage the project execution process by following appropriate processes and procedures and the following general steps: Prepare a project schedule document in a form ready to issue and utilize for tracking project progress and staffing utilization Manage project schedule and develop recovery plans to prevent schedule slippage Maintain coordination between all entities with responsibilities towards the scope of work Maintain project budget Provide accounting department with information of milestones completed when invoicing may be initialized Report on project finances on a monthly basis including percentage completion to be used in revenue recognition Act as liaison, ensuring communication among customers and critical contacts to facilitate project activities. Monitor and manage projects to ensure they are completed on time and within budget. Develop and communicate all work and schedule requirements with sales, shop, field workers, engineering, suppliers, and outside vendors. Provide follow-up throughout the process, to ensure that customers are aware of progress, changes in work scope are properly handled, and operations and outside vendors are informed of material shipments and work status. Ability to travel for short periods to job sites throughout North America and Internationally. Education and Required Experience Bachelor\'s Degree in engineering or related field preferred PMP certification helpful At least one year of experience in Mechanical Engineering, preferably within a service environment in the power generation industry. Project Management experience or related project administration and coordination required. Above average verbal and written communications skills, including organization and direction of technical personnel, experience in procedure and process documentation and technical report writing. Proficient at project planning and solid organizational skills in a multi-tasking environment are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required. Physical Requirements (The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.) ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Essential Duties Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specs, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of fini hed work. Determine sequence of operation. Select, align, and secure holding fixtures and cutting tools. Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors, such as speed, feed, flow, and depth/angle of cut. Set up and operate machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data. May enter commands to retrieve, input or edit programs. Start, observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-balance machining and adjust machine as required. May confer with engineers, product personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining problems. Perform inspections at the machine to verify part is to specifications. Perform daily and weekly maintenance on machines as outlined in preventative maintenance procedures. Maintain clean and orderly workstations by their assigned machines. Support supervisor and in process development and tooling development. Be an active team member in 5-S initiatives. Train and assist other operators in variety of machine tools. Willingness to support other departments to meet customer schedules and demands, this includes but not limited to performing assembly work, running manual machines like Bridgeport mills and grinders. Operate cranes and fork trucks.
