The Global Talent Development Team where the Talent Development Manager role is a critical member of the team at NBCUniversal enterprise-wide , responsible for designing and implementing NBCUniversal’s talent development and learning strategy at all levels of the organization, enterprise-wide talent practices and processes, and our all-employee diversity, equity and inclusion learning approach designed to power an inclusive and engaging culture.

At the Core of this role, you will:

  • Manage multiple complex talent development experiences that are focused on innovation and the evolution of our business and on maximizing the growth of top talent across the company.

  • Develop and deliver business-focused as well as top talent-focused learning experiences, flexing across multiple delivery models (live and virtual instructor led, video-based, etc.) with audiences of all levels throughout the organization.

  • Partner with leaders and subject matter experts inside and outside the organization to identify skills and mindsets necessary for NBCUniversal’s continued evolution, and participate in new design efforts to continually upskill the organization at scale.

  • Serve as primary project manager on multiple talent development experiences globally.

  • Incorporate an inclusive design and facilitation approach that reflects NBCUniversal’s commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of multiple Talent Lab experiences, including:

  • Learning experience planning, design, and development

  • Facilitating virtual and in-person learning experiences and events

  • Drafting Talent communications and communication/engagement strategies

  • Partnering with and prepping subject matter experts across the organization to serve as speakers or coaches in various Talent Lab settings

  • Managing event logistics

  • Analyzing evaluation data, and

  • Toggling between big picture design and detailed execution.

  • Support the development of enterprise-wide learning efforts to support the organization through business change, like the growth of streaming and introduction of new business models.

  • Manage relationships across a variety of functions, business partners, and stakeholders both internally and with external vendors.

  • Provide real-time advice to leaders, support talent in-the-moment.

  • Engage in coaching and consulting engagements as needed across NBCUniversal.

  • Remain a student of our business, keeping up with change internally and externally, flexing business acumen regularly to emphasize impact and connect to the bigger organizational picture.

Every week will be different, and you’ll play a significant role developing our talent, which is at the heart of our success as a creative company. 

Basic Requirements:

We’re a lean team that moves quickly, so to jump on in, we’ll expect that you have:

  • At least 5 years of progressive experience designing/developing/delivering learning solutions, organizational change efforts, and/or strategy/consulting/business development.

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • Experience project managing complex learning experiences, regularly balancing multiple projects in various stages of design and delivery.

  • Experience designing for in-person learning as well as video-based or online learning and have experience in multiple delivery modes.

  • Experience as a facilitator in virtual and in-person environments.

  • Experience consulting with stakeholders to identify development needs and can design solutions to address them.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office 365

  • Ability to travel regularly, up to 25% of the time.

Desired Characteristics:

You’ve put in more time developing yourself than the bare minimum and have developed further expertise in the talent, strategy, and design space, which may include:  

  • Experience coaching individuals and teams through problem solving and strategy tools/frameworks such as Design Thinking, Business Model Canvas, Lean, Blue Ocean, etc.

  • Experience with more advanced design tools such as InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop

  • A master’s degree in industrial/organizational psychology, HR, or an MBA 

  • You’re an excellent Team-Player – our work is a team sport; we help, support and learn from one another in an effort to deliver excellence for NBCUniversal. We win together.

  • Organized & Detail-Oriented – you help to project manage and put logistics in play before it’s show time.

  • Excellent Communication & Design Skills – Designing communication strategies and power point decks to share key points and help build understanding and awareness is a key skill.

  • Project and Process minded – Able to juggle multiple tasks with multiple deliverables.

  • Creatively Curious – You like researching new approaches that help keep us in the know and ahead of the curve.

  • Resourceful – If you don’t have the answer (and we don’t know) you will help figure it out. You’re comfortable navigating a complex environment to obtain info and seek buy-in

  • You see the Big Picture and want to understand + drive the larger Talent Management/ Org Development strategy.

Additional Requirements:

  • Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
