Job Summary:

The Fabrication Engineer will be responsible for the optimization of process flow, layout of manual and robot welding processes and continuous improvement of production & environment in terms of safety, quality, velocity, and cost, and support the implementation of production capacity.

What You Will Do:

  • Tooling design, fabrication manufacturing processing planning & execution, cost estimating, systems planning, layout, standards, releasing, etc. and requires the coordination of all disciplines.

  • Participate in welding quality improvement, welding rate improvement, robot programs flexibility and other projects. Promote welding quality and efficiency and reduce the cost of rework.

  • Be responsible for the preparation and optimizing of welding process instruction and programs , and provide on-site guidance, training and supervision to operators to ensure the implementation.

  • Be responsible for the update and optimization of welding, tooling and working position instruments, make demand plan in time and supervise the whole process of the implementation of the plan; determine the purchase plan of equipment, tooling and tools with external suppliers.

  • Formulate control measures for high risks to reduce the defect rate of fabrication cracking.

  • Implement engineering change notice, assess whether the capacity of the area is met initiate and implement all changes. Track and evaluate the effectiveness of changes to ensure the smooth welding process.

  • Do a good job of quality management according to CQMS quality management system

  • Support NPI, complete the preparation of the welding: potential failure mode and consequence analysis and control plan, process optimization and capacity analysis, welding operation instructions, WPS and mockup analysis and validation, programing, optimizing and tracking of robot programs.

What You Have:

  • Degree: Bachelor’s degree in engineering is preferred

  • English: Good at reading and writing. Intermedia level at oral speaking

  • Strong fundamentals in manufacturing concepts.

  • Knowledge of the planning system, manufacturing operations, facilities, methods and tooling required.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing and Fabrication procedures, planning processes, work standards relative to manufacturing and inspection.

  • Have the knowledge of CAD software, Inventor, Teamcenter and manufacturing software systems. CAD/CAM software, GD&T , welding procedure specification. • Able to read drawing, GD&T.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential for a process engineer and be able to identify issues, analyze data, and develop effective solutions.

  • Strong collaborative, interpersonal and negotiation skills are essential to develop a cooperative working relationship with others, both inside and outside the organization.

  • Attention to detail and ability to work with precision are crucial for ensuring quality in the fabrication process.

  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies, such as Six Sigma, can be valuable.

  • 5 years+ in manufacturing process would be a plus.
