Become an IT Associate Project Manager at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you’ll be responsible for delivering multiple small or medium sized projects in the IT – Enterprise portfolio with direct responsibility for scope, schedule, budget, quality, and business outcomes.

You will focus on managing vendors, contracts, financials, risks/issues, and stakeholders to ensure successful project execution. You will also lead cross-functional teams (Cybersecurity, Finance, IT Architecture, IT Grid Services, IT Operations, Supply Management, OU partners) and activities related to the development of plans, schedules, and execution of assigned projects. Additionally, you will be instrumental in supporting SCE’s digital transformation by employing and advocating for agile techniques throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Provides oversight to a mix of agile and waterfall projects in the assigned portfolio

  • Acts as a scrum master on agile projects and facilitates team meetings, including the Daily Stand-up, Iteration Planning, Iteration Review, and Iteration Retrospective

  • Holds vendors accountable for adhering to their schedule and quality commitments as specified in their contracts

  • Maintains project financial cost plans to ensure actual spend and remaining forecasts are accurate

  • Identifies, measures, and mitigate risks associated with projects and raises problem areas to IT leadership

  • Communicates and presents project updates to IT and OU partners to ensure awareness of project health and requests assistance to resolve difficult issues

  • Maintains key project information (milestones, financials, risks, issues) in the IT project management tool

  • Assists in driving continuous improvement projects to enhance existing processes and streamline the workflow of the team

The essentials

  • 5 years of experience in assisting implementation of projects in waterfall and agile delivery

  • 5 years of experience in project quality, including quality assurance, metrics, and controls

  • 2 years of experience as Scrum Master in agile projects

  • 5 years experience with Microsoft Office Professional Suite and various project management products

The preferred

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or relevant technical discipline

  • PMP Certification

  • Scrum Master Certification

  • 2 years of professional work experience managing suppliers, service contracts, project metrics, and contracts to meet project objectives

  • Knowledge of Lean and/or Six Sigma

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.  Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
