Southern Glazer’s offers a competitive compensation package with a salary range of $60,000 - $70,000. This salary range is an average range for this position. In determining a final offer, the company will evaluate a specific candidate's education, skills and experience and will make an offer appropriately.

Overview

Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Direct Warehouse Sales division which include a combination of Accounting, Sales, Merchandising, Customer Service, and Personnel Management experience.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Enforce all Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits (SGWS) policies and guidelines as well as adhere to all alcohol beverage control laws and regulations

  • Train and handle day to day supervision of store personnel in regards to cash, invoicing, customer service, and product knowledge, in addition to store appearance

  • Develop in-store programs to increase sales volume

  • Oversee monthly “priority” brands and displays at all locations

  • Ensure correct pricing and placement of the product in the locations

  • Work closely with suppliers to develop relationships and incentives

  • Build, maintain, and nurture strong and productive business relationships

  • Understand and make decisions on credit issues, product needs, and individualized service requirements of accounts

  • Perform other work-related duties assigned by the Director and be assigned to different direct warehouse sales (DWS) locations as needed

  • Sales, merchandising, customer service, accounting, and personnel management are all combined responsibilities of this role

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Additional Primary Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related discipline

  • 8-10 years of experience in industry-related experience

  • Understanding of basic accounting procedures

  • Wine/Industry knowledge to include a basic understanding of distribution, wine varietals, and leading spirit categories

  • Knowledge in balancing daily cash receipts

  • Knowledge of customer service concepts and techniques; ability to meet or exceed customer needs and expectations and provide excellent service in a direct or indirect manner

  • Demonstrates the ability to draw conclusions and inferences from data

  • Proficiency using high mathematical concepts such as fractions, algebra, statistics, mathematical modeling, and, to some extent, calculus

  • Proficiency using Microsoft Excel spreadsheets in creating pivot tables, develop charts, and formula

Physical Demands

  • Physical demands include a considerable amount of time walking, bending, reaching, standing, squatting, and stooping

  • Must be able to regularly sit and operate machinery such as a forklift

  • May require working at heights of 8 feet or greater

  • Additional hours may be required during October, November, and December and other peak periods

  • Must be able to frequently lift/lower, push, carry, or pull 56lbs
