Our Seguin, TX, location is seeking a highly self-motivated and detail-oriented Packaging Engineer to join our team.The ideal candidate has excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills to manage a highly motivated logistics team and high tempo plant operations.

THE POSITION
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, New Product Launch, Quality, Purchasing and Operations partners to gather and develop packaging requirements.
Provide design direction and create development plans for outbound packaging containers and dunnage.
Ensure strict compliance with Customer’s Packaging guidelines and actively seek ways to surpass customer expectations.
Drive problem-solving initiatives and lead continuous improvement efforts to enhance packaging workflows and optimize supply chain operations processes.
Focus on bringing cost reduction measures while maintaining the highest standards of quality.
Conduct inbound packaging reviews for suppliers, working closely with suppliers to align packaging with warehouse and operational requirements and needs.
External interaction will include, however, is not limited to, equipment vendors, construction contractors, engineering services contractors, and co-manufacturing organizations
Enhances and validates package components and packaging processes
Responsible for identification and validation of package materials and suppliers
Manage all packaging activities for successful New Product Introduction
Working with process engineering groups (new products) to develop and define packaging processes
Conduct analytical testing on materials and interpret data findings
Manage all program costs related to packaging to budget
Maintain an up-to-date open issues tracking report using the format currently in place
Conduct thorough engineering/cost studies
Resolves part quality issues caused by containers (Totes/Cardboard)
Develops and approves package testing plans and interprets results as required for various projects

Job Requirements
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in a related Logistics or Engineering discipline or equivalent experience
Must possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Packaging Engineering
Minimum of 3 years of Packaging Engineering experience in a retail product environment
Must be able to demonstrate competency in handling the interpretations of blue prints and understand the dimensional tolerances to stack-up various component types
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted. Must be able to stand for periods of up to 12 hours. Must be able to Push, Pull, Reach, Twist, Turn, Stoop, Walk, and Stand for 12 hours.

Knowledgeable in Office 365
Outstanding Communication skills
Knowledgeable in SAP System
Analytical mind, Excellent problem-solving abilities
Understanding of package qualification and reliability methods and failure analysis
