Amazon Finance Manager, Retail in Tokyo, Japan

Description

Amazon Retail Finance seeks an analytical, results-oriented Finance Manager for our product family finance teams in Japan. “Finance” in Amazon has similarities to 経営企画室・経営戦略本部 in Japanese companies in which you own a wide variety of planning and analysis responsibilities.

This role is responsible for driving and scaling controllership, analysis, planning, forecasting, and reporting across our product families. It touches the full P/L and will require understanding and strategizing selection maximization, revenue growth, and cost management. The role takes thought leadership on innovating and streamlining our business planning and tracking, partnering with senior business and finance leaders. It is a unique opportunity with a broad scope to partner with teams critical to the customer experience in Japan for consumers and business partners. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to provide analytical support for executive decision-making based on quantitative analysis, think strategically, and manage projects with multiple stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, mathematics, business or related field.

  • 6+ years in finance roles with progressively increasing levels of responsibility.

  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple priorities in a fast paced, growing and ambiguous environment.

  • Proven leadership achieving effective results in a fast-paced, growing and ambiguous environment.

  • Experience in setting up business cases and driving financial conclusions, strong analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Experience in FP&A and/or managing a P/L.

  • Superior attention to detail and having the ability to successfully manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously, while keeping the big picture in mind.

  • Strong MS Office skills and advanced proficiency in Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant Finance experience in the e-commerce industry

  • Ability to communicate results to both finance and business managers in a credible and influential manner.

  • Ability to maintain a superior level of attention to detail.

  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize workloads and successfully manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously.

  • Ability to understand financial issues in an environment of rapid growth.

  • Ability to own and independently drive projects in ambiguous set-ups with little guidance.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skill, including written and oral communication in both Japanese and English.

  • Knowledge of SQL is a plus.
