We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Adapted Physical Education (APE) Teacher to join our team immediately. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in adaptive physical education and a genuine commitment to supporting the diverse needs of our students. This is a temporary, full-time position until the end of the school year, with the possibility of extension through the Extended School Year (ESY) program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

+ + Develop and implement engaging and inclusive physical education programs tailored to meet the individual needs of students with disabilities.

• Conduct assessments to evaluate students' motor skills, physical fitness levels, and overall progress.

• Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and other support staff to ensure coordinated services and holistic support for students.

• Provide guidance and support to classroom teachers and staff on inclusive physical education practices.

• Maintain accurate records and documentation of student progress and participation.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Special Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

• Valid California teaching credential with authorization in Adapted Physical Education.

• Experience working with students with disabilities in an educational setting.

• Strong understanding of adaptive physical education principles and practices.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and external stakeholders.

• Commitment to promoting inclusion, diversity, and equity in education.
