PeaceHealth is seeking a Dir Nursing Workforce Development for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Day position.

Job Summary

Provides oversight of system-wide academic partnerships and development of training programs that facilitate nursing and other health occupations career paths. Serves as a liaison between PeaceHealth, academic partners and external workforce development partners. Serves as chairperson for the clinical workforce development council in collaboration with talent acquisition and workforce development team to develop and implement nursing and health occupations workforce strategic plan. Ensures that program objectives are met effectively and efficiently, including fiscal management and operations.

Essential Functions

  • Develops, implements, and manages a variety of clinical placement and work-based learning activities for students, including career exploration, coaching, mentoring, advisement, and job preparation skills training.

  • Collaborates with organizational networks and site-specific stakeholders to identify student placement opportunities. Collaborates with organizational nursing residency program coordinators on the identification, development, and utilization of shared preceptors.

  • Manages clinical affiliation agreements to support clinical placements, including discernment in obtaining new affiliations and maintaining ongoing affiliations.

  • Designs, organizes, implements, and evaluates student placement programs, processes across the system in collaboration with network and site-specific student placement coordinators and other stakeholders.

  • Collaborates with leadership, talent acquisition and other stakeholders to assess labor market needs, employment prospects, and job trends to focus student placement efforts across the organization.

  • Ensure training programs are compliant with the required elements from the state approval body. Supervised and ensures program instructors implement programs and ensure evaluative measures are met. Coordinates with academic partner and health system stakeholders to provide guest lecturers in appropriate school terms.

  • Identifies and shares with students’ financial support opportunities; organizational, state, and federal. Identifies job placement opportunities and coordinates with internal stake holders and students during senior year.

  • Establishes and maintains ongoing relationships with academic partners, including participation on local advisory boards and governance activities.

  • Utilizes evidence-based, clinical expertise to design/plan, implement and evaluate impact of student placement activities.

  • Maintains comprehensive records and prepare reports of student placement activities including annual community benefit reporting.

  • Monitors compliance with all federal and state regulations related to student placements.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

  • Master's Degree Required: Masters of Nursing.

Experience

  • Minimum of 7 years previous experience in the acute care setting.

  • Minimum of 5 years related leadership experience.

  • Significant experience in clinical education experience in a hospital setting.

  • Experience with student placement activities, (i.e., preceptor, affiliation agreements, academic partnership, etc.).

  • Facilitation of large group/team meetings.

Credentials

  • Registered Nurse Certified in state of practice.

  • Nursing Professional Development Certification.

Working Conditions

  • Consistently operates computer and other office equipment.

  • Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.

  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.

The general salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $64.78 – $97.18. The actual hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to, the job/position responsibilities, location, terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement, education, training, work experience, seniority, work performance, etc.

PeaceHealth requires a completed Primary Vaccine Series (e.g., 2 dose monovalent Pfizer, Moderna or Novavax series or 1 dose J&J vaccine series) or be Up to Date (receiving the most recent Pfizer/Moderna bivalent vaccine/booster) for COVID-19 vaccination prior to their start date. PeaceHealth has a medical and religious exemption request process for those that are unable to receive the COVID-19 primary vaccine series due to medical/religious reasons. For caregivers that will be working in Oregon there is a personal vaccine exemption form that may be requested.
